Dupa cum scriu ziarele se pare ca Obama a incalcat constitutia acceptind Nobelul. Articolul I, sectiunea 9 din constitutie stipuleaza cit se poate de clar:
"And no Person holding any Office of Profit or Trust under them, shall, without the Consent of the Congress, accept of any present, Emolument, Office, or Title, of any kind whatever, from any King, Prince or foreign State."
Totusi, exista precedent, atit Wilson, cit si Roosevelt au fost premiati pentru activitatea dusa la vreme de razboi, dar Obama este primul in istorie care este "mituit" ca sa faca ceva in viitor.
