The wonderworking Icon of the Mother of God “Surety of Sinners”
Incepand cu 23 noiembrie si pana pe 28 noiembrie ne vom putea inchina icoanei Maicii Domnului „Mântuirea păcătoșilor" ce v-a fi adusa in Anglia de la Moscova. Pt cei interesati mai jos este in engleza programul.
Icoana Maicii Domnului „Mântuirea păcătoșilor"
„Bucură-te, Ceea ce ții mâinile noastre la rugăciune către Dumnezeu"
Este o Icoană foarte venerată în spațiul ortodox rus.
Numele Icoanei provine de la inscripția de pe ea: „Eu sunt izbăvirea păcătoșilor, pe care Fiul meu mi i-a încredințat, să-i ascult. Celor pe care am bucuria să-i aud la rugăciune, le voi mijloci bucuria veșnică".
Fiul o ține pe Maică de două degete, cu ambele mâini. Gestul simbolizează încredințarea Fiului Maicii și, respectiv, încrederea pe care și-o pun creștinii în mila Maicii Domnului.
De aceea, se crede că Icoana a fost inspirată de un vers de Acatist: „Bucură-te, Ceea ce ții mâinile noastre la rugăciune către Dumnezeu". Nu se cunoaște perioada când a fost realizată prima Icoană „Mântuirea păcătoșilor". Una dintre acestea se află la mânăstirea Sfântul Nicolae – Odrino, din regiunea Orlov. Ea era așezată într-un loc mai puțin important, în bisericuța de lângă porțile mânăstirii, între alte două icoane vechi. Fiind cu pictura aproape ștearsă și plină de praf, nu se putea citi nici măcar inscripția de pe ea. Nu era băgată în seamă. Dar în anul 1843 mai multe persoane au visat simultan că acea Icoană trebuie cinstită, ca făcătoare de minuni.
Îndată ea a fost mutată în biserica mare și venerată. Mulți bolnavi și necăjiți s-au grăbit spre închinare, dar prima minune a avut loc abia în 1844, când o mamă s-a rugat insistent pentru băiatul ei olog, iar el s-a înzdrăvenit. Apoi, în timpul unei epidemii de holeră, Icoana i-a ocrotit pe credincioși. De aceea la mânăstirea din Orlov s-a construit o biserică mare din piatră, cu trei altare, în cinstea Icoanei „Mântuirea păcătoșilor".
O altă Icoană de acest fel se află la Moscova. Ea a fost pictată la dorința lui Dimitrii Boncheskul, pentru propria locuință. În scurt timp ea a devenit izvorâtoare de mir tămăduitor, prin care s-au vindecat mulți bolnavi. De aceea Icoana a fost mutată în biserica Sfântul Nicolae – Chamovnika. S-a construit și o bisericuță separată, în cinstea Icoanei.
Există multe alte copii ale Icoanei „Mântuirea păcătoșilor". Dintre ele, una este în Robensk, iar alta în Koreț. Icoana este sărbătorită la 7 martie, 29 mai și joi, în săptămâna tuturor Sfinților.
From 23rd to 28th November 2011, the wonderworking Icon of the Mother
of God “Surety of Sinners” is being brought to England from Moscow. It
will be brought by a delegation headed by His Grace, Bishop Tikhon of
Podolsk, Chairman of the Moscow Patriarchate’s Finance and Economic
Administration, Rector of the church of St Nicholas at Khamovniki in
Moscow where the icon resides.
On Thursday 23rd November, at 6 pm, the solemn meeting and a Moleben
to the Mother of God in front of Her wonderworking image will take
place in the Cathedral of the Dormition of the Mother of God at 67
Ennismore Gardens, London SW7 1NH.
On Tursday 24th November, at 10.30 am, there will be a Moleben in
presence of the hierarchs of the Local Orthodox Churches on the
British Isles, members of the 4th meeting of the Pan-Orthodox Assembly
of Bishops in the UK which will take place at the Cathedral on that
day.
On Saturday 26th November, at 10.30 am, the Diocesan Divine Liturgy
will be celebrated at the Dormition Cathedral with the participation
of the clergy of the Diocese of Sourozh. This day will be the 5th
anniversary of the consecration of Archbishop Elisey of Sourozh and
the beginning of his service in the British Isles. The Vigil will be
celebrated on the eve, Friday 25th November at 6 pm.
On 26th November, at 6 pm, the wonderworking icon will be taken to the
Cathedral of the Mother of God and the Holy Royal Martyrs in Chiswick
where the Vigil will be celebrated.
On Sunday 27th November, at 10.30 am, “Surety of Sinners” will visit
the Parish of St Nicholas the Wonderworker in Oxford where the Divine
Liturgy will be celebrated.
On 27th November, at 6 pm, there will be a Moleben with the Akathist
to the Mother of God in front of Her wonderworking image in the
Cathedral of the Dormition in London.
On Monday 28th December, at 6 pm, a Moleben to the Mother of God will
be celebrated in front of Her Icon “Surety of Sinners” before its
departure to Moscow.
