Ratzinger Won't Fire the Filthy Brady, but the Irish People Just May
Benedict-Ratzinger's Great Sex & Embezzlement Holocaust is not going away, but is gaining steam. The "Paedophile Pope" has pulled every propaganda trick in the book, but, as they say, the fish stinks from the head. Now the British Broadcasting Corporation has outed his Newcardinal-Primate of Ireland, Sean Brady, as a child-rape facilitator, but Brady maintains that he won't resign. Those paedophile bishops never do, do they?
But Newcardinal Brady may have no choice but to get out. Certainly Ratzinger won't fire him. Ratzinger has never met a paedophile bishop he didn't like, even the one who raped his own nephew for years and then boasted of it on French television. But the Irish themselves may just run Brady out on a rail, so enraged are they over Ratzinger's personal hand in covering up from the Garda the rapes of "tens of thousands" of their children in New Order schools and orphanages.
Brady faced renewed pressure to resign May 2, 2012, after a BBC documentary documented his cover-up of rapes by a notorious paedophile presbyter, Brendan Smythe, who assaulted "scores of children." Brady, who like Pontius Pilate, washed his hands of the affair, expressed no remorse for his role in failing to protect the children, but instead said that he "felt betrayed." His statement did not address the issue why nobody in Newchurch, including himself, didn't call the police. Nor did it mention that he, as the canon lawyer in the two interviews of the children, required both boys to sign oaths of secrecy, promising not to tell anyone outside Newchurch of the sexual assaults they had suffered.
The boy known as the "Belfast victim" told the BBC that Brady and two other presbyters made his father wait outside the room when he told the presbyters the names and addresses of five other boys and girls that were being raped by Smythe. The BBC interviewed all five and reported that their parents never received any message of warning from Newchurch. The Belfast victim said he had been raped for another year, then his sister and four of their cousins.
Newcardinal Brady's gross immorality was directly attacked by one spokesman for the children. "Brady is offering the classic excuse of the Nazi death camp guard: I was only following orders. This is coming from an institution that is supposed to stand for love, truth, and justice." Smyth eventually left Ireland for the United States, where he raped dozens more children. He was finally caught, convicted on 74 counts of child rape, and imprisoned. His conviction helped open the floodgates for criminal complaints against hundreds of Irish presbyters, nuns, and other church officials.
Newcardinal Brady once declared that he would resign if his actions had resulted in abuse of even a single child. Just another lie on the part of Ratzinger's man. In Ireland, where Ratzinger and his Newchurch still run many hospitals and most schools, its standing has plummeted. A recent poll found that barely a third of Newchurchers even bother to go to the invalid Novus Ordo service any longer, down from 90 per cent.
Irish Prime Minister Enda Kenny accused Ratzinger and his Newvatican of driving the culture of cover-up and failing to respond to the investigators' letters seeking evidence. When Ratzinger failed to respond, Ireland sent Ratzinger's ambassador home and closed its Newvatican embassy. [Some information for this Commentary was contributed by the Associated Press.]
