Ma folosesc de ultima postare a domnului Dragomir, caruia ii multumesc pt precisa observatie, pt ultima postare pe care o promisesem lui Mihai, referitoare la textul in ebraica. Intradevar Isaac nu s-a opus si evrei au ajuns si ei cumva la o concluzie similara, dar pe alta cale si din alte motive. Este o ipoteza din punct de vedere istoric, dar are si o doza decenta de argumente.

James Kugel o observat urmatoarele aspecte, pe scurt.Undeva pe la mijlocul sec II BC, evreii erau gata sa se revolte impotriva stapanirii siriene. Multi dintre ei erau gata de martiriu dar totusi a aparut o intrebare: care este limita dintre martir si sinucigas si ce are de spus VT pe aceasta tema. Prin urmare au cautat modele de potentialu martiri iar unul dintre eroi selectati a fost Isaac. Poate parea surprinzator pt ca Isaac nu a murit si nici nu a parut a sti, pana in ultima clipa ce se intimpla. Totusi exegetii evrei ai acelor timpuri au avut o alta parere, bazata pe ebraica textului biblic, si anume ca Isaac nu doar ca a stiut dar si consimtise la sacrificiu. Redau scurta expunere a profesorului Kugel.

,,On top of all this was the fact that , as we have already noted, the Hebrew text of the Bible contains a great potential for ambiguity. Not only are the vowels in a word usually left to be figured out by the reader, but the beginnings and ends of sentences are not marked: biblical Hebrew had neither capital letters nor periods and the ends of sentences. As a result interpreters constantly had to decide between different ways of dividing up a sentence and construing the relationship of the warious words within it. In this case Abraham says to his son ,,God will provide for Himself the lamb for the burnt offering, my son" .But the sentence could be read as two sentences: ,,God will provide for Himself" and ,, The lamb for this burnt offering (is) my son". Note that Hebrew normally has no word "is" so this second sentence is altogether grammatical".

Desi, din perspectiva dansului exegeza ebraica pare a forta putin textul la a doua posibila fraza, in istorie evreii au crezut in acest tip de exegeza, care proba, din punctul lor de vedere, ca Isaac a stiut, a acceptat si prin urmare a fost un potential martir, motiv de inspiratie pt o revolta impotriva sirienilor, revolta care cu siguranta ar fi avut martir. Profesorul Kugel chiar da ca exemplu doua dovezi clare ca au crezut in acest mod, consemnate in exegeza ebraica la Geneza 22.8 in Targum Neophyti si in Fragment Targum:

,, Abraham said to Isaac: The Lord will provide a lamb for Himself for the burnt offering my son-and if not you will be the lamb for the burnt offering. And the two of them walked together with firm intention".
