Ev. Ioan 16, 23-33
Zis-a Domnul către ucenicii Săi: adevărat, adevărat vă spun vouă: orice veţi cere de la Tatăl în numele Meu, vă va da vouă. Până acum n-aţi cerut nimic în numele Meu; cereţi şi veţi primi, pentru ca bucuria voastră să fie deplină. Acestea vi le-am spus în pilde, dar va veni ceasul când nu vă voi mai vorbi vouă în pilde, ci pe faţă vă voi vesti despre Tatăl. În ziua aceea veţi cere în numele Meu; şi nu zic că Eu voi ruga pe Tatăl pentru voi, căci Însuşi Tatăl vă iubeşte pentru că voi M-aţi iubit pe Mine şi aţi crezut că Eu de la Dumnezeu am ieşit. Am ieşit de la Tatăl şi am venit în lume; iarăşi las lumea şi Mă duc la Tatăl. Au zis ucenicii Săi: iată, acum vorbeşti deschis şi nu spui nici o pildă. Acum cunoaştem că toate le ştii şi n- ai trebuinţă ca să Te întrebe cineva. De aceea credem că ai ieşit de la Dumnezeu. Acum credeţi? - i-a întrebat Iisus. Iată vine ceasul şi a şi sosit, ca să vă risipiţi fiecare la ale sale şi pe Mine să Mă lăsaţi singur. Dar nu sunt singur, pentru că Tatăl este cu Mine. Acestea le-am grăit către voi, ca în Mine pace să aveţi.

John 16.23-33

In that day you will ask nothing of me. Truly, truly, I say to you, if you ask anything of the Father, he will give it to you in my name. Hitherto you have asked nothing in my name; ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full. I have said this to you in figures; the hour is coming when I shall no longer speak to you in figures but tell you plainly of the Father. In that day you will ask in my name; and I do not say to you that I shall pray the Father for you; for the Father himself loves you, because you have loved me and have believed that I came from the Father. I came from the Father and have come into the world; again, I am leaving the world and going to the Father.” His disciples said, “Ah, now you are speaking plainly, not in any figure! Now we know that you know all things, and need none to question you; by this we believe that you came from God.” Jesus answered them, “Do you now believe? The hour is coming, indeed it has come, when you will be scattered, every man to his home, and will leave me alone; yet I am not alone, for the Father is with me. I have said this to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”
